Fishing has been one of the popular sources of income for the families that dwell along the Brahmaputra. Without boats, there is no fishing and the most common are these handmade boats (see picture), making the river more picturesque. During the time that I spent in Guwahati, I got an opportunity to interact with the locals as well as understand the functioning of their fish economy and the boats.
